Day 7 Do you believe?

Life has some unpredictable turns and twists. Sometimes we see the turns and sometimes we don’t. James tells us to “Count it all joy”! It is this perspective that gives us a glimpse into a person in total alignment with God’s will for their life. Life is one way without God and another way with God. Every case is a futile attempt by the enemy to take us from who we were called to be. The demons we wrestle with are sent to rob our beliefs and use our effectiveness as collateral. Remember Matthew 17:18-21:

And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, that if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Coming into alignment with God helps us curb our doubts and fears. Fear and doubt paralyze us to the point of losing effectiveness in our walk with God. When we pray and fast, one thing that leaves is our unbelief. Praying allows our thoughts to come into alignment with God’s vision for our life. I find it interesting that the problem lifted out of the scripture is not the presence of demons. The problem in this text is the absence of belief. It is then when we have faith to believe, that we can pray with confidence and know that “nothing will be impossible” as we live to bring glory to God. We must ask God to strengthen our hearts to fully believe Him and believe His word. It is okay to recognize and acknowledge if you struggle with unbelief. It’s the first step in allowing God to strengthen your faith and bring you into alignment with His plan for your life.

What is it that you need faith to believe God for? Start now and align yourself with God’s Word and will during this fast. Ask the Holy Spirit to free you from your unbelief. Watch God work as you pray with confidence and renewed power knowing “nothing will be impossible for you.” You have the power to overcome any obstacle in your way.
